Cocoa Bean Shells – TACUFIN is a company that specializes in transforming cocoa bean shells into innovative food products.
The cocoa shells are a by-product of the conventional modern processing of the cacao fruit into chocolate and chocolate-like products. The majority of these shells are produced in countries where the cocoa beans are processed after the drying process, especially in Africa.
Our founder was the first in Europe, and in fact worldwide, to use upcycling processes of cocoa bean shells to bring innovative beverages to market.
To create this innovation, Dayog used an unique process that combined traditional African know-how and modern processing methods. The result was a nutritious cacao-based refreshing drink with a flavor reminiscent of cacao or chocolate, but which, in comparison to conventional cacao products, credibly satisfies three needs : Fairness, Health and Sustainability.

Over the years, our founder has collected extensive data, conducted tests, carried out market research and obtained funding for his cocoa shell-based innovations. These results make him one of the leading experts in the field of cocoa shell processing. He continues this research and development work at the CBS Cocoa Shells Innovation Lab. All our innovations are also developed at the CBS Innovation Lab.
